Chasteberry or Chaste Tree is a flowering shrub native to the Mediterranean region also grown as an ornamental in the Northeastern U.S.
The fruit of the plant has a long history of use in the preparation of tonics. Powdered chaste berry is usually encapsulated. Although considered safe, potential hormonal effects indicate that this herb should not be used during pregnancy.
