Comfrey Rose splash of mint Hydrosol
A hydrosol, also known as floral water or hydrolat, is a water-based product created during the steam or hydro-distillation of aromatic plants. It contains water-soluble aromatic compounds and a small amount of essential oil, making it gentler than essential oils but still possessing therapeutic properties. Hydrosols are used for skincare, aromatherapy, and sometimes even in cooking.
- Steam/Hydro-distillation: Hydrosols are created when aromatic plants are distilled with steam or water. The steam or water carries volatile aromatic compounds, which are then condensed into a water-based liquid.
Hydrosols are known for their skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties. They can be used to balance skin pH, tighten pores, and calm irritated skin.
